Training at Springstone Equestrian

Instruction: All lessons are taught by Heather Jackson. Heather has been eventing since she was 11 years old and has always been a rider that had to make what she rode. Her lifetime experience as a horseperson combined with her training as a graduate HA pony clubber and eventer through the Preliminary level gives her an approach to riding that is rooted in solid fundamentals. Heather believes that in order to have a safe, confident ride, both horse and rider must be over-prepared for the challenges at the level they compete.
Heather has been instructing riders professionally since 1994. She coaches several young riders regularly in eventing, jumpers and dressage. She was the 2007 Event coach for the South Region's eventing teams at US Pony Club Nationals.
Instruction focuses on the rider having a balanced seat and soft contact that encourages self-carriage in the horse. She teaches riders and horses to be responsive and flexible in order to maximize athleticism. The primary goal for both horse and rider is to be confident and this depends on solid fundamentals.
