News

Genesis 2007

Oct. 2007: We are excited about our new member of the family, Genesis, a yearling Rheinlander colt that Phyllis Freese purchased from Borderline Farm in North Ridge, MI. "Cholo" will begin his training in 2008 and will be presented for stallion approvals in 2009. He is by Coronado, an up and coming Belgian Warmblood stallion who has started his 1st year in the jumper ring with clear rounds and blue ribbons at Level 3. Phyllis and Heather have high hopes for their colt as an event prospect and will present him as a 2 year old in the Future Event Horse Series in 2008. July 19- 28: We spent a week at the Ky. Horse Park including 3 horses competing at Champagne Run.

L'Avventura, aka 'Avi', competed in the Future Event Horse series and was honored with a 2nd place. Canoe and 'Zoe' competed in Novice. Canoe came home with a 6th in his division and Zoe lost her ribbon placing when she needed to take a second look at the water. But all in all the horses were great. Then we stayed on to work with the South Region's eventing team at US Pony Club Nationals.

Grace and her horse, Rebel, competed on the Novice team and came home with a 6th in her division. Other South eventing team members had successful rides including Lauren Lacefield's 2nd place in her division. Great week! Hira Shamsuddin was stable manager for the South's upper level dressage team and took home an armful of ribbons for the team's performance and horse management.

May 5-6: Kelly Pierce completed her first event in 6th place on Carly. Hira and Grace were back at it at Beginner Novice and Novice respectively with much success. Canoe finished his second BN in 6th place with clean xc and stadium.

April 2007: We gathered to celebrate all of the April birthdays in the barn. Everyone got to wear some cake!

Mar. 31, 2007: Poplar C.T.: Callan Freese competed her new horse, Spider Murphy, for the first time and Maya Shamsuddin completed her first combined test.

Feb 9-11, 2007: Very successful event! Hira Shamsuddin was 6th in JBN. Grace Baran finished 4th in JN. And Finisterre was 6th in NH (his first event). Congratulations!
